Make Time for You: Beauty Is Better with a Bestie

October 22, 2026•3 min read

Have you ever told a friend, “We really need to get together,” and meant every word—only to realize another month has slipped by?

You’ve both been busy. There’s work, family, errands, appointments, and someone who needs something.

Friendship can end up waiting for the same thing your own care is waiting for: a less crowded calendar.

But what if getting together could be simple? A favorite drink, a little skincare, and time to enjoy each other’s company—even from different states.

That’s the heart behind Busy Beauty Besties Across America.

You don’t need a special occasion

We make room for birthdays, holidays, and important milestones. But an ordinary week can hold a reason to connect, too.

You can invite a friend because you miss her. Because you’d enjoy doing something together. Because you want a little fun on the calendar.

There doesn’t have to be a bigger explanation.

And you don’t need to turn it into an event that requires cleaning the house, preparing food, or finding the perfect outfit.

Sometimes, “Bring your tea and come as you are” is enough.

Make caring for yourself something to look forward to

Last week, we talked about making skincare simpler. This week, let’s make learning about it a little more enjoyable.

Maybe you have questions about products you already own. Maybe you’re unsure what order to use things in. Or perhaps you’d enjoy someone walking you through the basics without making you feel behind.

Those questions can become the beginning of a friendly conversation.

You can learn something useful, laugh with a friend, and take a little time for yourself along the way.

You deserve to feel comfortable asking questions. You also deserve to enjoy the experience.

Your bestie doesn’t have to live nearby

One thing I appreciate about meeting virtually is that distance doesn’t have to keep us from spending time together.

Your sister might live across the country. Your longtime friend may have moved away. Or perhaps you’ve built a friendship online and would enjoy doing something together beyond exchanging messages.

A virtual gathering gives you a shared place to meet.

You can each bring your favorite drink, settle into your own space, and enjoy the same conversation.

No travel plans required.

Come with friends—or come on your own

The word “besties” might make you think you need to arrive with someone.

You don’t.

You’re welcome to join on your own. You can be curious about skincare, looking for a little company, or simply ready to try something different.

There’s room for you.

And if you do invite friends, you can bring more than one. Think of someone who might enjoy a relaxed conversation and a little encouragement to make time for herself.

An invitation can be simple:

“I’m joining a virtual skincare gathering. Want to bring your tea and come with me?”

Let’s spill the tea on easy skincare

Through Busy Beauty Besties Across America, my goal is to bring women together for group sessions representing all 50 states by December 31, 2026.

We’re beginning with Spill the Tea on Easy Skincare—complimentary virtual gatherings focused on basic Mary Kay skincare and making a routine feel approachable.

As a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant, I’ll guide the conversation and help you understand the product options we explore.

Bring your favorite tea—or coffee—your questions, and a willingness to make a little room for yourself.

Say yes to a little beauty, fun, and friendship

You don’t have to wait until life slows down to put something enjoyable on the calendar.

Invite a friend, gather a few besties, or join on your own.
